55 Hillhouse Ave New Haven, CT 06520Jackson’s Career Development Office welcomes David Marshall. Lunch provided. This would be of specific interest to students interested in human rights. Mr. Marshall, a human rights lawyer, was recently the head of the Accountability and the Administration of Justice section in the UN mission in Iraq where he led the UN’s efforts to monitor the trials of ISIL defendants. He was the author of the recent U.N. report on mass graves discovered in territory previously controlled by ISIL. In addition, he led a UN human rights investigation into atrocity crimes in South Sudan. He has been a human rights legal advisor for the UN human rights office in Sudan, Nepal and Kosovo. He was the editor/contributor to “The international rule of law movement - a crisis of legitimacy and the way forward (Harvard University Press, 2014). He is a graduate of Leeds University and Harvard Law School.
